Nerissa Tucker, LPC Therapist
Nerissa Tucker is a Licensed Professional Counselor who completed a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy. Nerissa specializes in helping individuals, couples, families, and adolescents navigate challenging life circumstances. Many of her clients deal with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship problems, and other issues. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, along with others, to help clients understand the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Nerissa has spent the majority of her career in the corporate world and understands the unique challenges that young professionals face. She helps individuals navigate in this space and offers insight for those considering changing career paths as she has done.
Nerissa is Gottman level 2 trained in couple’s counseling. She helps couples focus on building or rebuilding the foundation of their relationship, reducing conflict, and increasing their strengths as a couple. Nerissa has also received extensive training in family counseling and adolescent therapy. She is a trauma-informed therapist who helps clients heal from past traumas. Additionally, she has experience incorporating Christian principles into counseling and can do so at your request.
In her free time Nerissa enjoys laughing as much as possible, traveling, volunteering, and enjoying outdoor activities. She has recently moved to Chicago and is enjoying all the city has to offer.
