Angelica Martinez

Graduate Therapist Intern

Hello, my name is Angelica, and I am currently working on completing my master's degree in Couples and Family Therapy at Adler University. I have also previously received a degree in Sociology and Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Building community, deepening relationships and improving communication skills have always been at the forefront of my passions and interests. I believe we are all a part of a larger system, so I see every client as one piece of their respective community.

I am passionate about assisting families and couples in building healthy and thriving relationships. Since every family and couple is unique, I approach therapy with an open mind and a non-judgmental stance. My goal is to facilitate effective communication, enhance understanding, and provide tools for resolving conflicts and improving overall relationship satisfaction.

Additionally, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where adolescents can explore their emotions, build resilience, and develop effective coping strategies. I believe in empowering young individuals to discover their strengths and reach their full potential, while also addressing concerns related to self-esteem, identity, academic stress, peer relationships, and family dynamics.

Whether you're going through a major life transition as a family or individually experiencing challenges in your relationships, I am here to support you in finding resolution and strengthening your bonds.

Outside of talk therapy, I find great relaxation in cooking, researching skincare and enjoying music with friends and family.
