Cy specializes in working with men, women and athletes struggling with depression, anxiety and confidence issues. He is passionate about challenging some of the societal beliefs around initiating therapy, particularly for men and athletes, and is committed to encouraging open and honest conversations regarding mental-health and wellness within this community.
With several years of experience in the mental health field, Cy has had the opportunity to work as a clinical counseling intern at Lewis University and as a mental skills coach at Benedictine University. These roles have allowed him to support a diverse range of clients, including underserved populations, first-generation students, pilots, student-athletes, BIPOC, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Cy’s therapeutic style is grounded in practical strategies that clients can easily implement in their daily lives and see measurable progress. By combining trauma-informed and evidenced-based techniques (CBT and DBT) with a personal touch, he helps clients harness their strengths and enhance their self-confidence to achieve their goals.
Cy holds a Master's of Science in Sport and Human Performance and a Master’s of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. He is currently pursuing his Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credentials.
Outside of helping clients, Cy enjoys being active outdoors. If he’s not playing a round of golf, or watching a Cubs game, you can find him enjoying a book by the lake.
