Iyanla is a dedicated clinician with a passion for supporting and uplifting individuals that feel unseen and unheard with a focus on working with racial/ethnic minorities and members of the LGBTQ+ community. She brings her own cultural experiences and perspectives to her work, understanding the unique challenges faced by marginalized individuals.
Iyanla’s commitment to helping extends to individuals from all backgrounds and identities, ensuring cultural competence and inclusivity in therapy so everyone feels respected and welcome. Her work is focused on helping her clients develop the resiliency and strength that comes from overcoming adversity. She strives to honor each person's individuality by tailoring her approach to meet their specific needs and aims to create a sanctuary where they feel safe, heard and valued.
Iyanla is currently working to complete her masters degree at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a concentration in Trauma. In her free time, she loves practicing yoga, painting, and staying active. These activities not only keep her grounded but also inspire her approach to therapy. She is known to integrate mindfulness, breathing exercises, body scan meditations, and guided imagery into therapeutic practice.
