Jack specializes in working with children and adolescents struggling with the effects of trauma, as well as depression, anxiety, and behavioral issues. As an adopted Korean-American, he has a personal understanding of the complexities of this unique experience, which has inspired his interest in working with individuals navigating identity issues. Jack is dedicated to creating a supportive and understanding space for young clients as they work through their challenges, helping them find healthy ways to cope and grow.
Jack’s therapeutic style is collaborative, open-minded, and flexible, often incorporating experiential and creative methods to meet the individual needs of his clients and foster meaningful engagement. His approach is focused on guiding clients to become the best versions of themselves, with a strong emphasis on trauma-informed interventions for healing. Before joining Pure Health Center, he worked for several years in behavioral health at a group home in southeast Missouri, where he treated adolescents and families in the criminal justice system for trauma-related issues, grief/loss, addiction, and sexual offenses. During his time in Missouri, he also learned and utilized Adventure Based Counseling techniques, which he continues to incorporate into his therapeutic style.
Jack gained his Master of Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago. In his free time, Jack enjoys a variety of activities like camping and backpacking, playing video games, going to concerts, spending time with friends and family, and is always on the lookout for the latest sneaker.
