Courtney is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals understand and navigate the complex impact of past trauma on their present lives and relationships. She firmly believes that understanding one's past is essential for healing, personal growth and the development of healthy relationships. She is passionate about helping clients uncover the roots of their distress and building resilience while focusing on their strengths. Her approach is centered on providing concrete, skill-based strategies such as CBT to help her clients manage their struggles effectively and gain a sense of control over their emotional well-being. She also strives to include trauma-focused interventions such as EMDR, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems.
Courtney earned her Master of Forensic Psychology degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. The forensic component of her degree has given Courtney a unique opportunity to work with individuals exposed to trauma and difficult family situations. Before entering private practice, Courtney worked with clients involved in the court system, families undergoing difficult transitions, and individuals with extensive trauma histories. She enjoys incorporating humor and self-disclosure into sessions to help clients feel relaxed and understood.
When Courtney is not at work, she enjoys being outdoors and trying new restaurants. She is passionate about caring for her 6-pound pup and daughter, and you can almost always find her reading a mystery thriller.
