Nikki is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in working with adults and adolescents facing unexpected and traumatic life adjustments, relationship trauma, and the struggles related to grief and loss. Whether you are dealing with the recent loss of a loved one or in the midst of a difficult break-up, Nikki has a deep understanding for the complex emotions that arise during these challenging times and is committed to helping facilitate clarity and healing. In addition to trauma and grief, Nikki feels particularly drawn to working with those who are beginning therapy for the first time and is dedicated to making what often feels like a daunting and intimidating process, a comfortable and pleasant experience.
Nikki’s therapeutic style is unstructured yet highly effective, allowing sessions to flow naturally while also incorporating her expertise and evidence based treatments such as CBT and trauma-informed interventions. Clients value Nikki’s warm, welcoming energy and her laid-back demeanor ensures that everyone that walks into her office feels comfortable and empowered to express whatever is on their mind and to be their authentic self.
Nikki holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a master's degree in counseling psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Prior to working in private practice, Nikki has also spent time working in community mental health centers.
In her free time, you can find Nikki enjoying herself by taking walks around the city, exploring new neighborhoods and restaurants to try with friends, and finding new music to listen to.
