Sidney Bobo

Graduate Therapist Intern

Starting the journey to prioritize mental wellness can feel intimidating and bring about feelings of uncertainty. At the same time, there is power in understanding and reclaiming your story. Sidney understands there are various intersecting identities and diverse experiences that compose an individual. She strives to create an inclusive atmosphere where clients feel safe, and understood, while maintaining a judgment free zone. Sidney believes in an empathetic, collaborative and holistic approach to counseling.

Sidney obtained a Bachelors in Psychology with an emphasis in Biology from the University of Missouri (Mizzou) and is completing her masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from DePaul University. Sidney has previously worked with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, regulatory disorders, and children that experience challenges with learning, peer interaction, and sensory processing. This has given her the tools to work with sensitive populations.

Sidney also has experience working alongside therapists in a PHP and IOP program with adults and young adults with a variety diagnosis ranging from: depression, anxiety, OCD and trauma. She looks forward to using these experiences to guide her connections with clients. Sidney believes that when the client and counselor are able to build a strong therapeutic alliance, the outcome will be an empowering, rewarding and enriching experience.

Sidney is a foodie and self-proclaimed chef. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new recipes in the kitchen and trying new restaurants in Chicago. Sidney also enjoys taking walks along the lake with her dog and practices mindfulness through meditation and pilates.
