Simran Rathod

Social Worker

Simran is a South Asian psychotherapist with a passion for holistic health and wellness who believes in guiding you on your journey using self awareness, humor, and warmth. Simran is dedicated to serving people across the lifespan; adults, teens, couples, and families, and across all communities. She specializes in working with people who are seeking support for the following:

  • Self discovery, finding your core and who you are in this life
  • Eating disorders and all other forms of self harm
  • Trauma, impactful life moments that manifest in unhealthy patterns of life
  • Relationships, whether they are romantic, familial, friendship, or non-romantic

As a first generation Indian-American immigrant, Simran is deeply committed to serving this population on their journey to healing and self discovery. As someone with this background, Simran has an awareness of the unique experiences that come with navigating life within the Asian community. She is bi-lingual and is available to provide sessions in both English and Hindi.

Simran’s approach to therapy is unique. As a client, you are seen through the lens of mind, body and soul, always considering the interconnectedness of mental health and wellness. To do this, Simran utilizes somatic based interventions, guided meditations, and personalized hands-on interventions that get you thinking outside of the therapy session; because healing doesn’t happen once a week. The structure of sessions is highly individualized and recognizes that each person and their experience in the world is unique.

Simran holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work with Minor in college teaching from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing & Rhetoric with a Minor in Business Administration. During her free time Simran enjoys being outside with her family, running (slowly), and documenting her yoga and healing journey on Instagram, @HealWithSim!
