Spencer Rybacki

Graduate Intern Therapist

All PHC clinicians are highly trained and able to treat our clients that are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions and/or mood disorders. Please continue to explore our bios if you require a more specialized treatment plan.

Spencer is dedicated to working with individuals who are struggling with grief and loss, anxiety, depression, as well as challenges associated with pivotal life transitions and milestones. He is also drawn to working with athletes who are experiencing performance anxiety, coping with injuries, and self-esteem issues.

Spencer believes that no one understands yourself better than you and his approach is rooted in understanding your unique perspective and life experience.  He believes in a holistic approach that looks at all the areas of life and utilizes skills such as acceptance and mindfulness to aid healing and growth.  Together, he will work with you as a fellow emotional/experiential archaeologist, exploring how your past experiences shape your present behaviors and goals.

Spencer is currently working to complete his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northeastern Illinois University, and has his Bachelor’s in Theater, Film, and Television Studies from the University of Colorado-Denver. Prior to venturing in the world of therapy, he spent over ten years performing improv and sketch comedy all around Chicago. In his free time he enjoys gaming (board and video primarily), playing golf (poorly), spending time with his fiance (lovingly), and getting yelled at by his small cat (constantly).
