Akilah is committed to helping people from all walks of life, with a focus on those navigating identity struggles, depression, eating disorders, and those from marginalized communities. She operates from a place of compassion, cultural competence and skill to ensure that every client gets the effective treatment they deserve. She works with individuals both in person and via telehealth.
Akilah is a dedicated clinician who is passionate about helping clients learn to exist more comfortably as themselves. She believes in a holistic and strength-based approach that encourages clients to actively participate in their development and healing. She strives to create a welcoming space where clients can feel seen and safe as they explore their own value and capability.
Akilah is currently working to complete her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northeastern Illinois University, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Cornell University. Outside of school and counseling, she enjoys makeup artistry, yoga, great smelling candles, and impromptu dance parties with her niece and nephew.
