Ava is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern currently pursuing her Master's degree at Roosevelt University. Her clinical interests include sport and performance psychology, anxiety, stress management, life transitions, self-development, and emotional regulation. She is interested in supporting individuals as they work toward long-term goals, navigate periods of change and better understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors and overall well-being.

Ava's clinical approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), helping clients identify patterns that may be impacting their daily lives while developing skills to manage emotions, cope with stress and create meaningful behavioral change. She values adapting counseling interventions to meet each client's individual needs, experiences and goals.

Ava believes that clients are the experts of their own lives and that growth is fostered in a space where individuals feel heard, respected and accepted without judgment. She strives to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship and approaches counseling with warmth, empathy, authenticity and encouragement. Her goal is to walk alongside clients as they build insight, strengthen resilience and move toward change that feels meaningful.

Ava offers both in-person and telehealth sessions and is committed to creating a culturally responsive and affirming environment where clients feel supported in exploring challenges, recognizing strengths and working toward their personal goals. Following graduation, she plans to pursue opportunities within the sport and performance psychology field, combining her clinical training with her experience as a former athlete.

Outside of the counseling setting, Ava enjoys following a variety of sports, advocating for mental health awareness within athletic communities, and staying active through Pilates, yoga and sports. She also values spending time with loved ones.
